Welcome to the 2022/2023 School Year!
I’m so excited to be back at Orchard for another school year. Teachers have been attending professional learning and setting up their classrooms, and we are ready to welcome back our Orchard Eagles tomorrow!
This is my 3rd year at Orchard. I can’t tell you enough how dedicated the teachers and staff are at Orchard. They care deeply about all the students who attend, and I’m excited to join them for another successful year.
The first day can always feel a little out of control, but here are some helpful hints for tomorrow.
Grades 1-6 need to be in line by 8:10 am. The grade levels and names of the teachers are written on the blacktop, so students know where they need to line up. If you aren’t sure which teacher your child has, there will be helpful staff members out front who can assist you.
Once the bell rings, teachers will be out to greet their class and begin teaching what their morning procedure looks like. If you have questions or comments for your child’s teacher, please reach out to schedule a meeting with them so they can begin teaching. We ask that you say goodbye to your child once their teacher is there. I appreciate your help with this.
Breakfast will be served in the classroom to all students and is free. However, lunch will need to be paid for. You can sign up for free and reduced lunch or pay for your child’s lunch by visiting our school website. https://schools.graniteschools.org/orchard/
Thursday and Friday this week will be short days, and the dismissal bell will ring at 12:50 pm. Your child will exit where they began their day.
Our school carnival will be on Tuesday, August 23, from 5:00-8:00.
It is going to be a great year and thank you again for choosing to send your child(ren) to Orchard Elementary!
