Orchard Families,
We hope everyone had a fun Fall Break. We are excited to begin term 2, and report cards will come home soon. You can also access report cards through the parent portal at any time.
We have had an increase in stolen scooters at Orchard. Please remind your students that if a scooter doesn’t belong to them, they shouldn’t take it out of the bike cage. Also, if your child does bring a bike or scooter to school, please send it with a lock so it will help keep them safe.
Our Halloween parade will take place on Thursday, October 31, at 9:00 am. It will be held outside. At 8:45 am, the drop-off lane will be blocked off for an hour so the students can walk through safely. Parade watchers will sit on the grass or in the driveway, so plan to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
Please remember that because the parade is taking place outside, you and your child will want to ensure that you and your child are dressed for the weather. (In the event of rainy or snowy weather, the parade will be canceled.) Students should come to school wearing their costumes and ready for the parade. Also, remember that no masks or weapons (real or pretend) are allowed for students or parents, and they should all adhere to the school dress code.
Some teachers may have classroom parties after the parade. Check with your child’s teacher before October 31 to see if they need help.
