Orchard Families,
Over the next few weeks, we are teaching students about Empathy. One way to think about Empathy is “understanding and connecting with other people’s feelings.” Empathy is a practice that can help us grow strong relationships.
Empathy is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Kind. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and leadership.
The construction out front is almost complete. They have also installed a video doorbell. Once the construction is complete, we will begin locking doors around 8:30 in the morning. If you come to the school after that time, you will need to ring the video doorbell. Someone from the office will answer to ask what you need and then open the door to come in. This new safety protocol will allow us to keep all doors locked during school hours.
