Did you Know?
We employ 16 amazing Education Support Professionals who together provide more than 400 hours of direct instruction to Penn students every week. They are the heart of our school, giving individualized and specialized support that makes a huge difference for kids. If your student mentions learning from Ms. Alice, Ms. Amy, Ms. Cara, Ms. Carol, Ms. Christine, Mr. Gavin, Ms. Gina, Ms. Jodi, Ms. Kim, Mr. Kody, Ms. Merilee, Mr. Robb, Ms. Shelly, Mr. Severo, Ms. Tashina, or Ms. Yohanna, you’ll know they’re talking about one of these dedicated professionals. We couldn’t do this work without them, and I am so grateful for all they do.
Walk and Roll to School
William Penn is officially registered to participate in National Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 8th! A flyer with more details on how to join in will be sent home next week. Walk and Roll to School Day is a nationwide effort to encourage kids and families to walk, bike, or roll to school, helping build healthy habits, promote safety, and reduce pollution while strengthening our sense of community. Walking or rolling to school isn’t just good exercise—it’s also a fun way for students to gain independence, connect with friends, and start the day with energy. We look forward to celebrating this event together and hope you’ll join us in making the day a success!
Penguin Huddle Topic Survey – Click Here
This year we are excited to partner with the Salt Lake County Health Department and Utah State University to bring valuable learning opportunities to our Penn families through Project CREST. Our partners will join us for two evening Penguin Huddles, where dinner will be provided and both parents/caregivers and students will learn side-by-side. These sessions will focus on topics that build resilience, strengthen families, and support our school in creating a kind and caring culture where every student feels safe, accepted, and free from bullying. To help us plan, we’d love for you to take a very quick two-question survey to share which topics interest you most. Your feedback will guide the conversations at our Penguin Huddles this year!
Meet the Master – Hokusai
Penn students recently enjoyed a special assembly learning about the famous Japanese painter Hokusai. After the assembly, each class participated in a hands-on visual art lesson where students had the chance to recreate a painting in Hokusai’s unique style. This enriching experience was made possible by the dedication of our Arts Boosters, the engaging presentation from Mrs. Hackett, and the support of dozens of parent volunteers. We are so grateful for everyone who helped bring the arts to life for our students!
