All schools have their individual characteristics and needs; Rolling Meadows Elementary is no different. Within our community there are many diverse cultures, languages, students with disabilities, and many more unique needs. We encourage parents and guardians to participate as school volunteers, in PTA, and on School Community Council.<\/p>\n<p>It is the intent that our communication with parents, such as materials or flyers, will be written in an understandable and uniform format and, to the extent practicable, provided in a language that is understandable. If anyone would like clarification, interpretation, or additional support, please contact the office at 385-646-4990. Each parent or guardian is highly encouraged to work directly with the teacher of the child to resolve any concerns.<\/p>\n<p>A school-parent compact has been developed by the Rolling Meadows Community Council, PTA, and staff. A copy is available on our website or by contacting the office staff. The purpose of the compact is to increase each child\\&#8217;s academic achievement and to partner with families to support their growth.<\/p>\n<p>Our policy includes specifically how the following activities will be accomplished:<\/p>\n<p>Some ways in which families will be kept informed and assisted in understanding expected state, district and school academic standards, assessment used, and student achievement expectations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly Memo for families<\/li>\n<li>SEP Conferences (interpreters provided as needed)<\/li>\n<li>Class Dojo for regular communication between school and families<\/li>\n<li>Quarterly communication from teachers about power standards in reading and math, including assessment growth data<\/li>\n<li>Quarterly grades posted on the Focus parent portal<\/li>\n<li>Announcements on school marquee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some ways materials and training will be offered to parents to help them work with their children to improve achievement, such as literacy, numeracy and technology training.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Each grade-level will hold a family engagement event each school year<\/li>\n<li>The school will hold at least one academic-focused family engagement event each year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some ways in which appropriate coordination of parent involvement activities can take place with various programs at the school. This plan is data-driven, evidence-based, and responsive to findings from data reviews, needs assessment findings, and stakeholder input.
