We wanted to thank you, the students, and our teachers for their support and efforts during the Shelter in Place protocol yesterday.
As a reminder, a “Shelter in Place” protocol is initiated when there is police action the neighboring area. The school’s exterior doors are locked while classes proceed as normal in the inside of the building. The school and district work under the direction of law enforcement in these situations and are often not aware of the details surrounding the events.
In this incident, Unified Police received some ambiguous threats that were invariably found to not be credible. Multiple schools in the county were impacted by these threats. We appreciate their efforts to ensure our student’s safety.
The graphic below explains the protocol in depth. Please contact the school directly if you have any additional questions.
