Happy New Year and welcome back to school in 2014. I hope everyone had a wonderful break. The students returned with big smiles on their faces, so I trust they did.
We’re nearing the halfway point and one of the most worthwhile stretches of the year. With routines well established, this is a fabulous time for students to make great gains in their learning. Students, teachers, and parents, should be actively engaged in aiming for and achieving the student-learning benchmarks for corresponding grade levels. With the focus on, “Beginning with the End in Mind” and setting worthwhile goals, we empower our school to be highly focused on student-learning results. This requires a tremendous amount hard work and perseverance, but the students are the ultimate beneficiaries of such a focus.
I’m looking forward to 2014 and the next steps for Truman Elementary. I am in constant awe of the efforts of Truman teachers and parents and your focus on our students’ needs.
