Updates from Upland
Hello everyone,
Thank you to all who attended our SEP nights. Your support makes our jobs so much easier and we are so lucky to have a community who values education and appreciates the hard work of our teachers. Here are this week’s updates.
PTA Updates
With the school musical coming to a close, we’d love to hear your feedback. Please take a moment to complete this survey and provide us with some insights for the coming year. Survey: Shrek the Musical Production.
Chick-fil-A spirit night is TONIGHT!! 🎉 Head to Chick-fil-A in sugarhouse between 4:00-7:00 tonight to give Upland a portion of their profits. You can order using the mobile app and select the Community Care Event to help us out. See the attached flyer for more info.
The next PTA meeting will be on March 6th at 9:15. We believe Julie Jackson may be in attendance for this if you have any remaining questions after she visits us on February 28th during our school community council meeting at 3:00 that day.
Kindergarten Registration for 2025-26
Do you or someone you know have a child turning 5 on or before September 1st, 2025? If so, please complete the survey on the attached flyer about kindergarten registration. Also, save the date for March 13th at 2:00 as we will be having an open house for our incoming kindergartners and their families.
K-2nd Gifted Testing
Gifted testing for our kindergarten, first and second graders is happening now. If you wanted your student to be tested, but missed the sign-up for that, please let me know and I can direct you to the district personnel that can help.
School Fundraiser is Coming
It has been a couple of years since the school has held their own fundraiser, so I just want to share some information about this. Every year at Upland Terrace, we have our school carnival. The carnival is put on by the PTA and the money made during that event goes entirely to the PTA. The PTA graciously helps out the school by supporting our school musical and the arts, field trips for students, teacher morale and much more. There are also certain restrictions that come with the money that is donated to the PTA. Which means, they are unable to help us with updating our school technology, updating the sound system in the gym, buying items to create a STEM lab, etc.
This year, all schools across the country lost a budget that we were given as COVID relief money for the last two years. Which means we are in desperate need of asking for your assistance with some of the aforementioned items. Our school fundraiser will be on March 3rd-7th and will tie into Read Across America week. More information about this will come next week. But save the date for March 4th as we will be having a Books and Bagels event at 8:15-8:55.
