Updates from Upland

Hello everyone,

Our fundraiser website closes tonight at midnight. While we did not quite hit our goal, we came very close! You all raised over $24,000 for our school and most importantly, for our students. You have no idea how much this means to us. We will be able to purchase new technology that our school desperately needs, as well as start the process of creating a STEM lab in our building. Thank you all so much for supporting us. We are so lucky to have such an amazing community 🤗. And yes, I did let the PAC study leaders know that 😉.

Students who turned in their BINGO sheet will get to sit wherever they want to during lunch everyday next week. Our three top earning classes were Mrs. Teynor’s class, Mrs. Baxter’s class, and Mrs. Larson/ Mr. Williams’s class. Those classes will be having a silly string party soon. All classes that hit their fundraising goal will get a popcorn/ movie party. Students who earned the dance party incentive will be doing that on Friday, March 21st. Students who earned the Night at the Library prize will be joining me from 5:00-7:00 on Thursday, March 20th (view attachment for more information). Students can be dropped off at 5:00 and picked back up at 7:00. I will send an email to the parents of the students who earned this prize to see if there are any dietary restrictions or other information I may need. And the final prize, the top 10 highest earning students will get to turn me into an ice cream sundae. My gift to you all is that you get to watch, too. We will do this outside on May 1st during our Family Picnic at 12:15. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity.

PAC Study

Hopefully you are well versed about the PAC study and what it is by now. If you are not, feel free to email Ms. Anderson and I can elaborate. There is a PAC study community meeting on March 19th at 6:00pm at Skyline Highschool. This is for all community members of the 10 schools involved in the study to attend to gain more information and ask questions. I will be in attendance and will share any new information from that meeting with you all, in case you can’t make it. They also record all meetings and post it on the PAC study website, which can be found by going to this link: https://www.graniteschools.org/planning/

Also, if you have questions that don’t get answered, or want to provide them with information about our school, you can use this feedback link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSefCRSGbzIcTmpx-evfCdGDUeULUJ50BMf8LenZ1aOJWRhZXA/viewform

School News

Yesterday was the last day of the 3rd quarter. I can’t believe it! Report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 21st, so make sure to check your student’s backpack that day.

Spring break is April 7th-11th. Once we are back from spring break, we will be in full end of year testing mode. Please try and ensure your student’s attendance during this time as it is very hard on teachers to get kids caught up if they’ve missed a test. Also, for many months throughout this year, Upland Terrace has had the 2nd best attendance in our district. This is amazing! Let’s try and beat out Eastwood for 1st place in highest attendance for the remaining months.
