Updates from Upland

Hello Everyone!

Our end of year testing is under way with our fifth graders starting us off. Our kindergarten through second grade students wrote words of encouragement for our 3rd-5th grade students to cheer them on while they take the RISE test. If you’d like more information about the tests we take, please view the attached flyer.

Upland Play

As many of you know, our school play is a massive endeavor. We are in the works of figuring out how to make it more manageable for all involved. If you’d like to help us get organized and make a clear process for the play, please view the attached flyer and join us for a meeting. This production can’t go on without the support of amazing volunteers like you!

Family BBQ

Our family BBQ will be on May 1st. Your student will be outside eating lunch during their regularly scheduled lunch block. View the attached bell schedule to know when your student will be outside. Our school lunch that day will be hamburgers that we’re grilling outside. Parents are welcome to bring lunch or to purchase a school lunch, the cost for an adult is $3.35. We’re asking that adults bring their lunch money to the office to ease the flow of traffic in the lunch line. This can be on May 1st, or before.

When you arrive at school on May 1st, please still check in at the office first. Thank you!

Gifted Testing

If your student participated in our gifted testing this year, results will be sent home by the end of this month. Along with your child’s results, we will send a letter from the school about your student’s class placement for the following year. This will also be sent home by the end of April.

Upcoming Dates

-April 23rd-27th: Your student will be coming home with a Jersey Mike’s coupon card today. This is good for Wednesday-Sunday to get a free sandwich with an Upland Terrace donation. Each child was given 2 cards, and we have more in the office if you’d like more. This is for the new Jersey Mike’s location in the Canyon Rim shopping center on 3300s.

         – ‎April 30th: Whole school picture, try to wear red or Upland Terrace gear

-Thursday, May 1st is a short day with dismissal at 1:40. We have no school on May 2nd.

-Field day is fast approaching on May 28th. Please use this sign-up genius link to sign-up to help out on this day. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0944AAAF29A7F94-field1#/
