Crosswalk Safety
Thank you for all you have done to keep our students safe by making the drop off/pick up around the school a one way process.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, we would like to remind all parents, guardians and students about the importance of traffic safety around the school premises.
Stop at All Intersections Prior to Crosswalks:
Please be vigilant and stop at all intersections before reaching crosswalks. This ensures that students have safe and unobstructed access to crosswalks when navigating the school surroundings.
Zebra Crosswalk Etiquette:
We want to draw your attention to the marked crosswalks resembling piano keys or zebra stripes. It is essential to remember that, by law, no vehicle is allowed to enter the crosswalk while a pedestrian is crossing anywhere within the crosswalk. This extra caution is crucial for the safety of our students and helps create a secure environment for everyone.
Parallel Open Crosswalk Etiquette:
For all other crosswalks, drivers are allowed to proceed through as long as the pedestrian has safely crossed to the other side of the road. However, we encourage drivers to exercise patience and allow pedestrians to cross completely before proceeding.
Remember, no parking or stopping in the bus zones or the red zones of the crosswalks.
Students Reminders:
Students, please avoid darting into the crosswalks when vehicles are in motion. Take a moment to assess the traffic and only cross when it is safe to do so. Whenever possible, attempt to make eye contact with drivers before crossing. This helps ensure that they are aware of your presence and intention to cross. Exercise patience and wait for an appropriate gap in traffic before crossing the street. Never assume that a driver has seen you; always take proactive steps to ensure your safety. For those students riding bicycles and scooters, please exercise caution when entering any street.
By adhering to these traffic safety guidelines, we can collectively contribute to the well-being and security of our students. It takes a community effort to maintain a safe environment around our schools.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the safety of all students. If you have concerns, feel free to contact the school office.
Parent / Teacher conference
Helpful Guide for a successful Night!
- Print your child’s schedule with room numbers and/or bring your child with you.
- Visit the teacher you want to visit – It is totally up to you.
o If there is another parent/family in the room, have a seat in the chairs that are in the hallway and
wait for your turn.
o Sometimes lines are long. You can always come back Tuesday night if you don’t see the
teacher(s) you need to on Monday. - Conferences are limited to 5-8 minutes so we can visit with as many families as possible. Each
teacher has approximately 200 students they see each day. - Some of our teachers work part time. This is their schedule for PTC Night:
· Mr. Quah: 9/15 4-6:45pm. 9/16 4-6pm
· Mrs. Diaz: 9/15 4-6:45pm. 9/16 4-6pm
. Mrs. Thompson: 9/15 4-6:45pm.
· Mrs. Naderi 9/15 4-6:45. 9/16 4-6:45 - We will have a Boo to the Flu clinic on 9/15. This is a great opportunity to get your flu shot and any 7th grade shots needed.
