The Latest Principal’s Message: 1.4.19
Dear Parents and Students,
On January 16th from 6-8pm we will be having our annual open house. This is a great opportunity for those thinking about coming to Wasatch Jr. to see what we are all about. If you know some people who are thinking about coming to Wasatch, please let them know about this evening so they can see what a great school we have here.
From the PTA
Thank You for your generosity in making donations to the Wasatch Jr Trading Post. We have great students at Wasatch earning the opportunity to make “purchases” at the Post each Friday.
We are beginning to run low on several items. If you can help, please click the link below. This will take you to our Amazon store where you can make donations that will be delivered straight to the school. Thank you for your support!
From the Counseling Center
For 8th grade students and their parents, please be aware of the following dates:
January 9th and February 6th: Skyline International Baccalaureate (IB) information meetings held at Skyline High School at 6:00 PM. Choose either date if you want to learn more about the program.
January 24th: Skyline counselors will be meeting with our 8th grade students with their English classes in the auditorium to receive their 9th grade registration packets and information regarding Skyline. Parents are encouraged to attend any class period of the day, (except 6th period, when there are no 8th grade English classes).
January 24th: Granite Technical Institute (GTI) open house, 4:30-7:30 PM, 2500 South State Street, an opportunity to see the awesome programs that are available there.
January 30th: Registration cards for Skyline are due to be turned into the Skyline counselors who will be in their English classes this day.
High School Musical 2
Parents, if your child is a part of High School Musical 2 we need your contract and parent volunteer form no later than Monday January 7th. If your child does not get their paperwork in by Monday they will not be allowed to stay in the musical. It is imperative that we know who is positive they are going to be in the musical because students will be put into specific groups and we cannot do that until we know who will for sure be participating. Also, a reminder to pay your $35 musical fee at the online school web store or pay in the front office. Teachers cannot accept checks so please do not send checks to school for your student to give to any of the directors. One last reminder, please make sure that you sign up for a committee on the parent volunteer form as it is part of the musical requirement for parents to donate at least 4 hours to the musical. We will be having a parent set building day on Saturday February 9th from 8am-3pm. If you can build, paint, or are good with a broom we can use your help! For further information and to see a generic rehearsal schedule, for the time being, you can go to wjhfinearts.weebly.com
Thank you so much for your help and cooperation! We look forward to working with you and your children throughout this musical journey. It’s going to be an amazing experience and they will create memories they will cherish for a lifetime!
