Westbrook’s 4th grade students dressed as pioneers and sang their way through Utah’s history on May 17th and 18th. First they presented their program to the student body on Wednesday in a dress rehearsal. Then parents were invited to view the program on Thursday. Many of the fourth graders had speaking parts and all of them showed off their newly acquired recorder playing! The older students at Westbrook remembered doing this same program and were invited to sing along on a couple of numbers. The audience sang along at the end to Utah’s (relatively) new state song, “Utah, This is the Place.” After the program, students and parents had a little old-fashioned fun dancing the Virginia Reel. Thank you to the fourth grade teachers, Mrs. Wagaman, Mrs. Hargrove, and Mrs. Glad for directing this fun program! Finally, a special thanks goes to Mrs. Murray who wrote the speaking parts when she was a fourth grade teacher!
