This year, West Lake STEM had five available seats on its Community Council, and, because we had five nominees for those five slots, we will not need to hold an election. We would, however, like to briefly introduce the five new members of the Community Council and express our gratitude for their willingness to serve our great school.
Kuuipo Tausinga: “I am not only a former Mustang, but I do all that I can to be involved in my children’s schools and in my community in general. I currently serve on the Granger football little league as League Treasurer and have also served in other capacities serving youth aged children and their families. I am a trusted and responsible individual committed to finding ways to help my community! GO MUSTANGS!”
Jennifer Johnson: “I have a background in Public Realtions, PTA, and previous SCC experience. Let’s get to the point: Kids matter. I care. Let’s make a difference.”
Becky Young: “I’m Becky Young and I’m a mom of 4 kids at three different schools. It’s important to me to be involved and informed and have a voice. I have participated on West Lake’s Community Council with my oldest child and I’d love the opportunity to do it again.”
Ann Peterson: “I have been involved in community council at some of my other kids’ schools. I love the opportunity to help effect real change for our children and community. I am a stay at home mom with 6 kids and care a lot about doing the best we can as parents for the kids and the school.”
Jana Rupp: “I taught school for five years, and have served with community council and PTA at two other schools. I am excited about the changes with Westlake STEM and would love the opportunity to help continue making our great school even better.”
