The approved boundary study will alter West Lake’s enrollment somewhat to begin the 2016-2017 school year. The boundary remains the same except for two areas that have been rezoned to other schools. The portion of West Lake’s boundary that resides south of 3500 south will now attend Valley Junior High. This means all Pioneer Elementary students will now feed Valley Junior. Additionally, the portion of West Lake’s boundary that resides east of the I-215 freeway will now attend Granite Park Junior High. This means all Redwood Elementary students will now feed Granite Park. The rest of the West Lake boundary remains the same.
Monday, December 1st marked the opening of the open-enrollment window for the 2016-2017 school year. The West Lake STEM application is available online.
The months of December, January, and February have been legislated for parents to exercise their school choice option for the Early Enrollment Period Transfer for the forthcoming school year. Students already attending West Lake STEM do not need to reapply. Their open-enrollment permits will roll over automatically. As outlined in the open-enrollment guidelines, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on space available with prioritization given to siblings of current students.
