Registration will be <strong>ONLINE<\/strong> and available starting July 31st at 8:00 AM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This registration is for students who <strong>attended one of the following schools last year<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>West Lake STEM<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Armstrong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hillsdale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monroe<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stansbury<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dos Mundos Academy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button gb-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-color has-background has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/graniteschools.focusschoolsoftware.com\/focus\/Modules.php?modname=misc%2FPortal.php\" style=\"border-radius:5px;color:#ffffff;background-color:#3373dc;padding-top:10px;padding-right:1em;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:1em;font-size:20px;line-height:1.2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration for students who attended a feeder school last year<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>For any students who <strong>did not attend<\/strong> one of these schools or who are new to the area, please use the registration form below and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button gb-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-text-color has-background has-custom-font-size wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/westlakestem\/new-student-registration\/\" style=\"border-radius:5px;color:#ffffff;background-color:#3373dc;padding-top:10px;padding-right:1em;padding-bottom:10px;padding-left:1em;font-size:20px;line-height:1.2\">Registration for new students and students who did not attend a feeder school<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: Registration is different than course selection.<\/strong> Most students selected their courses back in February. However, every student is also required to complete this registration process each year to be enrolled in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ALL 7TH GRADE STUDENTS NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF IMMUNIZATIONS BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/schools.graniteschools.org\/westlakestem\/7th-grade-registration-documents\/\">Provide proof of required immunizations<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">School Fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All student fees will be paid through the Focus Portal. Any fees associated with classes that you signed up for will also be applied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Please Complete a Free\/Reduced Lunch Application<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/paypams.com\/OnlineApp.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Free\/Reduced Lunch Application<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We really want&nbsp;<strong>EVERY<\/strong>&nbsp;family to fill out a Free\/Reduced Lunch Application, even if you think you may not qualify. It is easier to qualify for this than it is for a fee waiver. We also get Title 1 funding based on how many students are accepted. Please fill out the&nbsp;Free\/Reduced Lunch Application!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Schedules and Class Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As soon as all required forms are completed, parents will be able to view their student\u2019s schedule in the Focus portal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All schedules will be available to students on Friday, August 7th by 8:00 AM through the Focus Portal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will also give you a printed copy on the first day of school.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will not be making class changes on the first two days unless there is a hole (blank class) in your schedule. Come to the office during that period. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We ask that you go to your classes on the first two days of school, then meet with your counselor if necessary changes need to be made.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Handbook<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please review the <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/165ZnQAEwuYQyu0tbRl4pEN0L-p4w4l10\/view?usp=sharing\">Student Handbook (PDF)<\/a>. There is helpful information in the handbook. All students and parents are expected to know the content in the handbook and must abide by the rules and expectations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Binders\/Backpacks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>West Lake STEM will provide all students with one binder that has a zipper and strap. Students may not have a backpack. All students must use the binder. Please encourage students to limit how many items they have in their binder to keep it organized and able to store under their seats. Students may bring a small purse\/bag if needed, however, most items can fit in the binder and there is a zipper pocket. If students lose or destroy their binder, they will be required to purchase a replacement binder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be one bus for West Lake this year. You may see where the buses pick up on the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.graniteschools.org\/schoolsearch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Granite School District Bus Eligibility<\/a> site. If you DO NOT live in the boundary of these eligibility areas, you will not be able to ride the bus. <strong>Only students who live in the eligible areas will be qualified<\/strong>. However, after school starts, there will be a 2-week waiting period, then students can apply for a Space-Available Permit if transportation determines there is available space. At that time, there will be a random drawing from the applications that are received. West Lake does not have an expedited process for this, it is a district-wide rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those who are eligible to ride the bus, you will be given an ID badge and lanyard that has your name and bus number on it on the first day of school. <strong>YOU MUST WEAR THE BADGE<\/strong> to be able to ride the bus at all times.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>School starts on August 12th!
