March 2020Granite Schools
In situations where a National Emergency is declared, the Emergency Food Service sponsored by the Summer Feeding Program, is made available to all children. Children can enjoy breakfast and lunches at no charge through the programs mentioned above. This is a federally funded nutrition program open to all individuals 1-18 years of age. No applications are necessary to participate.
Meal service will begin Monday, March 16, 2020 and will continue through March 27, 2020. School meals will not be provided March 19-23, 2020 due to previously scheduled student non-attendance days and spring break. The continuation of emergency feeding after March 27, 2020 will be reevaluated based on the State Board of Education’s judgement to continue the dismissal of K-12 schools.
The Program makes sure all children can eat healthy food during a National Emergency and school is dismissed. Each site will be offering ‘grab and go’ meals via a drive up and walk-in type meal service, especially in the case of inclement weather. Meals can be picked up at the following locations and times:
- Lunch Meals will be available 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at all school locations, except for Hunter High School due to its recent closure.
