Good Morning Parents of our Mighty Falcons!
This is a big week at Whittier, and I wanted to give you some information and hopefully answer any questions you might have.
First, our Front Office is officially done with construction and OPEN for Business! You won’t need to call to be let in anymore (Hurray)!! Thank you for your incredible patience over the past year. When you see how secure the Front Office is for your children, it will have been worth it.
SEP Conferences on Wednesday, Sept. 29th and Thursday, Sept. 30th from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm each day. Some teachers may have scheduled earlier Conference Times on Thursday because of the Short Day. If you haven’t scheduled your appointment yet, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s). Conferences can be done in-person at the building or virtual. Please pick what makes you feel most comfortable. We do encourage masks to be worn if you come to the building.
PTA Book Fair will be open the same time as SEP Conferences. The Book Fair will be in the Lower Hall Group Instruction Room. There will be a limit to how many people can be in the Book Fair at a time and again, masks are strongly encouraged by all who enter. It will close promptly at 7:30 pm each night.
NO School Friday because of SEP Conferences, Thursday is an Early Day and school will dismiss at 1:40 pm.
Tuesday, October 5th– School Picture Day. Even if your students are in the District Distance Learning Program, they can come get pictures that day. More information to come.
One last reminder: We have been very fortunate to have only had a handful of COVID cases at our school in our first several weeks of school. It’s been remarkable. BIG THANKS to you for keeping your children home when they are sick or show any signs like coughing, runny nose, fever, etc. We also have extra masks if your child ever needs one.
We look forward to visiting with you all this week, virtually or in-person. Your Whittier students are AMAZING! We’ve had a great start to this school year because them.
