Although the new STEM school is still not much more than a construction site and a lovely cubicle in the district office, many pieces are beginning to come together. This week, the posting went up for the teaching positions for the new school. Great teacher candidates have the next two weeks to apply for the openings. We’ll begin interviewing those candidates not long after the Winter Recess.
The early open-enrollment window began on Saturday, and applications for permits to attend the school have started pouring in. Half of the student body will be comprised of students attending on open-enrollment permit, and they are handled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
And, just like that; with teachers and students joining the ranks, it starts to feel like we’ve got a school. But . . . I’ll always remember the cubicle where (for me) it all started.
