This week I filled out the payroll for the new school for the first time. This is a traditional monthly process in a school and involves going over each employee’s time card and submitting it to the payroll office at the GEC. It’s not a terribly difficult process, but it can take a bit of time.
When it was brought to me this month, I had to smile in a pitiful sort of way to see my name only on the payroll. It was sure a speedy payroll to sign off on, but I can’t wait to see other names join the list. I remind myself it’ll happen before I know it.
And, we took a big step that direction this week. On Wednesday night we had our first orientation meeting for teacher candidates for the new STEM school. We had a huge turn out of interested teachers, and we’re expecting to see many great candidates in our interviews right after the New Year.
It’s so exciting, I can hardly stand it!
