This week, Mr. Howe and a number of district specialists had the opportunity to visit three STEM schools (one high school and two elementary schools) in Denver Colorado. STEM Lab, STEM Launch, and Northglenn High School were gracious hosts and shared lots of great ideas for the beginning of Neil Armstrong Academy.
While visiting the schools, the Granite team had the opportunity to see various problem-based learning activities (PBLs). Students at these schools tackled open-ended, authentic, and trans-disciplinary questions the teachers did not necessarily have the answers to. In the process, students used critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
