During four days of professional development, the teachers and staff of Neil Armstrong Academy began to create the mission, vision, and values (collective commitments) of Granite’s new STEM elementary school. We discussed how similar these documents are to the founding documents of our Nation (the Constitution and the Bill of Rights) in that we hold each other accountable to live by them. Likewise, when we feel satisfied with what our guiding documents contain, we will hold one another (be it teacher, student, or parent) accountable to live by them.
During the four-day training, the teachers helped get the documents this far. However, we hope to have input from all groups as we begin our new school. Please take a moment to look over the proposed mission statement, vision statement, and collective commitments. Then, using the comment section below, provide your input with either an “I like . . .” or “I wish . . .” (or both).
