One unique thing you might notice about the students of Neil Armstrong Academy this year is that each one will be wearing an Armstrong lanyard and ID badge at all times while at school. This will help greatly with our efforts to make the school as safe and secure as possible, but it will also be just plain fun and act as a symbolic reminder to the kids that they are part of something special.
The name tags and lanyards will allow classroom teachers to constantly verify who is present and who is absent, they’ll help all educators in the building call and know every student by name, and they will serve as a quick identification tool in case of an emergency. The badges will remain at school, so loss or privacy shouldn’t be an issue.
And, on this topic, a huge thank you to the volunteers who have been attaching the break-away clips to the 1000 lanyards we ordered. You’re fabulous!
