As the weeks go by, Armstrong is looking more and more complete. Kids, parents, and teachers alike have oohed and awed as each new addition has neared completion, including the greenhouse, soccer field, arboretum, gym, STEM labs, and the commons-area classroom.
One important item on our wish list is the Armstrong Academy weather station. The building has been outfitted with provisions to install a weather station similar to the one found at the Natural History Museum of Utah, and we’ve had Dr. John Horel on site to give us guidance on what that would take. We’re now looking for partners or donors to help us acquire the necessary hardware to make it happen. A terrific Armstrong patron, Robert Goodick, has headed up the initiative to reach out to organizations for this cause, but we’re looking for additional helpers to serve on a “wish-list” committee for this and other endeavors we might want to pursue at Armstrong. If you’re able and willing to lend a hand in this regard, please let me know by emailing me at ahowe@graniteschools.org
