Being the middle of winter means switching back and forth on a near daily basis between an “inside” day and an “outside” day. The Armstrong Community Council has determined that 20 degrees will be the threshold for a mandatory, school-wide inside day. Also, the adult on recess supervision will make the determination if precipitation warrants a mandatory inside day. The red and green signs on the front doors of the school will quickly and easily tell students if they should come in or if they can stay out. That being said, we’ll always make accommodations as needed or requested for individual students.
Additionally, Armstrong follows the Utah Department of Health’s recommendations concerning poor air quality, and we issue a mandatory inside day for all students when the particulate matter reaches 90 ug/m3. A link showing the hour-by-hour particulate matter is available on our website under “About our School.”
