Most people have seen the many building projects going on in the boundary of Neil Armstrong Academy, including the apartment complex being built immediately to our west. Some have (understandably) wondered what these new developments might do to the student numbers at Armstrong. Because of some excellent work by the Granite District and Boundary folks, I have an answer for you.
The new developments will (obviously) bring new students to the school. This was expected and planned for. It’s why we have multiple empty classrooms at Armstrong right now. The projected number of new students the projects will bring appears to be quite close to what the original plan for our school had been. Armstrong has been prepared to accommodate this growth while still maintaining roughly the same number of open-enrollment permits each year.
And, as we talk about growth and large numbers, may I say a huge thank you for everyone’s efforts and patience with the drop off and pick up procedures. We’ve achieved a fairly systematic end-of-the day routine that has everyone on their way within 15 minutes of the final bell. Thank you!
