Teacher Professional Development

Although the Armstrong students don’t come back until tomorrow (August 25th), the Armstrong teachers have been back at it all last week in preparation for the first day of school. During the last five days, Armstrong teachers have participated in trainings on:

• Fidelity to the core
• Instructional framework
• Granite curriculum maps and assessment tools
• Professional Learning Communities(PLCs)
• Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• Evernote digital portfolios – Student-learning evidence
• Go Math training
• Speaking and listening standards

And so much more! This extra professional-development time is very challenging, but it is so critical to our meeting the diverse needs of the students at Neil Armstrong Academy. We are very grateful to the Granite Board of Education for prioritizing this increased professional development time and the increased spending that makes it possible.
