Nothing beats a good book, and students all around Armstrong are reminded of that while in the thick of the first of our two annual book fairs.
Parents, thank you for supporting the Armstrong book fair (which greatly enhances the number of books in the Armstrong library), and, more importantly, thanks for supporting your student’s reading. By reading a minimum of 20 minutes each day, students develop a fluency they can’t acquire any other way. And, reading together as a family can be a fabulous experience for everyone. This week, my boys and I read all about the mishaps of Junie B. Jones as she tries to be a “Barber Shop Guy.” Thankfully, my boys agreed to not learn cosmetology by cutting their own hair.
In the middle of October, we’ll send home a report on each student’s reading ability. Watch for that!
