On account of the tremendous support from the Armstrong School Community Council (SCC) and the current LAND Trust plan, Armstrong teachers have three 45-minute blocks each week to sit down with their grade-level team and collaborate on four critical questions. These are:
- What do we want want our students to learn?
- How will we know when each student has learned it?
- How will we respond when some students don’t learn?
- How can we extend and enrich the learning for students who have demonstrated proficiency?
The extra time to address these questions and to analyze the answers on a by-the-student-and-by-the-standard basis has increased the shift at Armstrong from a focus on teaching to a focus on learning.
