Once again, many Armstrong 5th and 6th graders have been spending their January engulfed with Lego League preparations and tournaments. We’re very proud of how well the four Armstrong Lego League teams have done representing our school and the STEM focus we pursue at our school.
FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO® League (FLL) is an exciting, fun global robotics and innovation program that ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science, teamwork and technology in kids. FLL is a global program, and the Utah division is organized by the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah to promote innovation among our youth.
Students have the opportunity to solve real-world challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.
We also want to congratulation the Armstrong “Robot Nerds” for winning their tournament and advancing to the state tournament at the U of U at the end of the month. Good luck!
