As we do three times a year, this week we are sending home the DIBELS mCLASS Home Connect letters. These letters will tell you how your students did on our January Middle-of-the-Year reading fluency check. The report will explain your student’s proficiency level in multiple categories using a red-yellow-or-green scale. Students in the green zone have met benchmark requirements. Students in the yellow or red zone require strategic or intensive support.
The best takeaway for each DIBELS update is to set an individualized goal for student improvement. We stress to the students the importance of aiming for a “personal best.” You can find your student’s beginning-of-year DIBELS mClass Home Connect letter in his or her Evernote Digital Portfolio to provide a frame of reference. We’ll also add the February letter to the digital portfolios shortly.
