For the April meeting of the Armstrong Community Council, members of the council approved what is called the SNAP, or Safe Neighborhood Access Plan. It is essentially a plan the shows the safe walking routes to school for those Armstrong students who use their feet to get to school. On Monday, we begin the end-of-year SAGE Testing. Last week we had an Armstrong-in-Action Assembly to remind our students how they can come to school ready to set a personal best. Granite School District is planning to repeat its highly successful summer program: "Play Unplugged" this year, but it needs a little help from you. Granite is looking to increase the number of partnership businesses who will hand out Brag Badges to our many students once the students have completed an unplugged activity. Two years ago we conducted a survey about how to best use the one-day-a-week fine-arts specialist that the Granite Board of Education has chosen to fund for each elementary school. At that time, the feedback from this survey was to use the specialist to provide a general music program (Music for Life) for all students.
