Principal’s Page
Hello to all new and returning students and families of Bacchus Elementary! My name is Ave Neria and I am so excited to be serving as your new principal. I have already had the opportunity to meet some of you during registration, and I look forward to meeting all of you. I have already felt very welcomed, so thank you! I have worked in Granite School District for thirteen years, most of them in the Kearns area, so it feels like I’m back home. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if ever you have questions or concerns, or just want to say hi.
Please plan on coming to our Back to School Open House on Wednesday, August 17th from 4:00-5:30PM. Your classroom teacher may not be able to be in attendance, however, their classroom will be open for you to visit. We’re going to have a great year, GO DRAGONS!
Granite Education Foundation (GEF) will be sponsoring three pantries this summer. All students are invited to visit these pantries.
Pantries will be open from June 13-August 11 (closed July 4th)
Granite School District will be serving lunch from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. USDA Summer meal site finder https://www.fns.usda.gov/meals4kids
Dear Parents,
The Granite School District Board of Education is conducting their annual parent satisfaction survey to help measure progress towards district goals. We would appreciate your participation and your response is valued. It will be reviewed and incorporated in our efforts to continuously improve support to you. The survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete. Families should work together on this survey. Only one survey per family should be submitted. All responses are anonymous. Clink the link below to access the survey.

Beginning this 2021-2022 school year, online learning options will be centralized into two platforms: one for K-8 students, and one for 9-12 students. While evidence shows that face-to-face learning is best for most students, families should meet with their school administrator or counselor to carefully consider options and choose the right fit for their student. This option requires parents to complete registration at the school.
Granite Online Live K-12
The Online Live option features live virtual classes taught during specific timeframes during the school day. Instruction includes live virtual interaction with teachers, lectures, discussions, Q&A sessions, and feedback for students during class.
- Classes take place in real-time during the school day (synchronous). Lessons are presented live, and students must log in every school day as if they were attending an in-person class.
- Core courses that meet all academic requirements are provided, along with a selection of elective courses. Honors and specialty courses are not available.
- Students are assigned to Granite Online teachers and staff. K-8 classes are NOT taught by teachers from the student’s home boundary school. 9-12 classes MAY be taught by teachers at the boundary school.
- Students in grades K-8 are enrolled full-time; their entire school experience takes place online.
- Students in grades 9-12 may enroll full or part-time and may also enroll in Online Self-Paced courses.
We look forward to seeing you this week and appreciate your support.
Thank you,
Becki Monson, principal
