Principal’s Back to School Message

Dear Diamond Ridge Families,

Welcome back to a great 2014-2015 school year! The teachers and staff at Diamond Ridge are excited to have the opportunity to educate your children and help them discover their greatest potential. Remember, at Diamond Ridge we believe, “Super Me, Super You!” “We can make our dreams come true!” Our school staff is dedicated to working with each Diamond Ridge student to provide the help, encouragement, and enrichment each child needs to feel successful and happy at school.

Monica Thayer is joining us as our new assistant principal this year. She will be at Diamond Ridge full-time, and is eager to support our students on their path to success. Mrs. Thayer comes to Diamond Ridge from Redwood Elementary, where she most recently served as the school technology specialist and an instructional math coach. In addition to teaching fifteen years, and working as a school specialist for the last five years, Mrs. Thayer has five children of her own. She is thrilled to join the Diamond Ridge family and work with the wonderful students and families that make Diamond Ridge such an exemplary school.

As we begin another school year, there are many events to make you aware of. Please mark these important dates on your calendar:

• August 26^th: Wasatch Savings Books fundraiser begins!
• September 2^nd: First day of school for kindergarten.
• September 4^th: PTA Board Meeting (3:30pm) and School Community Council (4:30pm)
• September 5^th: Wasatch Savings Books fundraiser ends.
• September 5^th: Rocket Launch! (9:00am)
• September 11^th: Reflections Kickoff (9:00am). “The World Would Be a Better Place IF…..”
• September 18^th: Vision Screening
• September 23 & 24: SEP Conferences (3:30pm – 7:00pm)
• September 26^th: Compensatory Day (No students at school.)
• September 30^th: PTA Fundraiser Kickoff! (2:30pm)

 

Thank you, Diamond Ridge families, for helping Diamond Ridge to be such a fantastic school. As a school staff, we started the year with a theme of “Dream Big”. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to meet every student’s needs and think anything is possible if we work together to make our dreams come true!
