Happy Holidays to all of our Diamond Ridge families! Thank you for all of the generous donations to our school’s annual food drive. Doing service for others is a great way to begin the holiday season. The cold weather has definitely settled in. Please remember to send your children to school dressed appropriately. We only stay inside if the temperature drops below 25 degrees, or as a result of poor air quality. December is a busy month full of special events. Please make sure to keep these dates in mind:
• December 4th – PTA meeting 3:30 and Community Council meeting 4:30
• December 10th – Picture Retakes
• December 12th – Kearns Madrigal singers perform for Diamond Ridge students
• December 18th – Parent sing-a-long program 9:00
• December 18th – Kindergarten parent program 10:30 (am) & 2:00 (pm)
• December 19th – Class parties & student sing-a-long program
• December 22nd – January 4th Winter Recess. (Return to school on Monday, January 5th)
During the two week winter recess holiday, we hope our students make some time each day to read.
Here are a few wise thoughts to keep in mind.
“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” (Garrison Keillor)
“Books are uniquely portable magic.” (Stephen King)
“There is no such thing as a child who hates to read; there are only children who have not found the right book.” (Frank Serafini)
We look forward to seeing you during December as many of you will visit our school. Thank you for your support of Diamond Ridge and for sharing your children with us every day!
