Dear Diamond Ridge Families,
This communication is intended to provide parents/guardians with information regarding Distance Learning Fridays for all students at Diamond Ridge Elementary. As educators, we have high learning expectations for all students in our care. Our goal is to, in partnership with parents and guardians, provide ALL students with opportunities for high quality learning experiences, whether they are participating through distance or face to face instruction.
On distance learning Fridays, for as long as they are required, we intend to meet the needs of all students. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we determine the best course of action to make that happen! Today we met as a faculty and determined the following:
- Each grade level will be providing distance learning options for students as they see fit to meet the needs of their individual age group. This may include assignments that require the use of technology, are completely paper-based or a combination of both.
- Individual teachers and grade levels will determine the need to help provide technology to students at home and will continue to communicate with caregivers and adjust accordingly.
- On a normal day at school, students spend 6-7 hours learning. On a distance learning Friday, students will be learning at their own pace with the assistance of their caregivers at home. The amount of time that students spend working to complete assigned work will vary depending on the student’s age and capabilities. Learning expectations will be communicated by the teachers at each grade level.
We are looking forward to working with all parents and guardians to make this year a safe and productive school year for all students!
Sincerely,
Diamond Ridge Elementary Administration
