There are a few things to be aware of as the year is coming to a close. Our PTA sponsored a field day on May 16. Students were able to play on some inflatables, use sidewalk chalk on the playground, and enjoy a Popsicle and some cookies. Thank you to those PTA members who organized the day and the many volunteers who came and helped out. The PTA Carnival will be Thursday, May 19 at 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Our school choir will be be performing that evening as well at 6:15 PM. Our final BLING assembly will be Friday, May 19, at 8:30. Parents are invited to come. This is for our third through sixth grade students this time. There are lots of awards assemblies, field trips, walks to the local parks, faculty/student kick ball game, Shakespeare plays presented by our sixth grade classes, etc. Watch for notes being sent home to let you know when things are happening for your students. Teachers are covering concepts in their classrooms that will help prepare your children for a smooth start next year. It is still important that children attend every day.
Looking forward to next year, our first day of school will be Wednesday, August 17. Class lists will be posted on Friday, August 5th in the late afternoon. Back to School Night will be Thursday, August 12 at 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Our school theme for next year with be Dr. Seuss’s, Oh The Places You Will Go. You will be seeing lots of fun Dr. Seuss things next year. We will be holding our Community Council elections at the beginning of the year and will have a few openings. Please consider serving on the Community Council or helping with our PTA next year.
We would like to thank all of our great teachers for all of their hard work this year. Thank you to our students for working hard to learn and achieve. Especially, thank you to all the parents and guardians who send us such great kids to work with. Thank you for the many ways you support us here at Hillsdale!
