In an effort to provide maximum safety for your children, our school will strictly enforce the following procedures (we recognize some of these procedures have not been strictly enforced in the past and during our safety audit they were identified as red flags for student safety):
●No adults or non-students are allowed in student areas (including the playground) without a valid district ID, school, or visitor’s pass issued at the front office.
●Parents may not enter the cafeteria or multipurpose room with their children. This is in violation of the “Direct Supervision” requirement of state law.
●Parents dropping off lunches, books, missed assignments, etc. should take these items to the front office. They will be picked up by the students there.
●Any person checking a student out of school must have a valid form of identification and be listed on the student’s emergency contact card. If the person in not on the card you must call the office to make special arrangements. The adult checking the child out must sign the Student Check-out Log.
●All doors except one front door will be locked at all times.
As we work to improve safety procedures at school, we recognize it may create some inconvenience on the part of our patrons. We apologize if that is the case. Parent support of their student’s education program is the number one predictor of high student achievement. We hope that enhanced safety procedures will in no way be a barrier to your participating at school and supporting your children in their education.
