All of the classrooms in our school have a 45-minute intervention block, 3 times a week built into the school day. The time is set aside to provided additional instruction on previously taught reading and math concepts for students who need extra support. The time is also used to enrich and extend instruction for those students who have mastered these concepts. To accomplish this task, each grade level team has identified priority standards. The inability to master the standard(s) impede the learning of the individual student. The reteaching time is used to focus learning on the priority standards and close the gaps in student learning.
Teachers at Redwood are “Committed to Successful Learning” by differentiating instruction so that all students can learn at their level.
