The school year has begun with a fantastic first day. Students and teachers were excited to be back in a routine and have begun to set goals for the year. Be sure to join us for SEP Conferences the evenings of September 25th and 26th. Today we did a school wide rule review and orientation to a new SWAT (stop, walk, and talk) behavior program. Please take time to ask your children about what they learned. We are excited to be using this program and to have a full time social worker to help us develop it.
We are happy to welcome some new faces to Academy Park for this coming year. New to our faculty are: Mrs. Osborne – 3rd grade; Mrs. Rooker – 4th grade; Mrs. Hanson – 6th grade; Ms. Ward – SEL class; and Ms. McGrew –social worker. I know you will appreciate their passion for education as you get to know them.
We have received several new donated backpacks from Verizon and the LDS church. If any students are in need of a backpack please have them check with us in the front office.
Our theme this year is TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More). Watch for our school theme wall and other activities throughout the year. Thank you for all your support and trust in us. We are dedicated to providing each student with the best education possible. Please feel free to come in to visit or introduce yourself to me when you are in the building.
