Principal’s Message: It’s Cold Outside

I’m sure everyone is getting tired of our extremely cold weather recently.  Our students are no exception.  As a staff, we are doing every thing possible to keep the children warm and safe.  We closely monitor temperature, wind chill and other aspects of the weather to determine inside or outside recesses.  We are asking for your help in sending your student to school with plenty of warm clothes appropriate for outside time.  Most students need and prefer to go out for a quick ten minute break.  We are also asking that students do not come to school early.  Except on rare occasions, the school is not open before the first bell rings.  I am being greeted daily by students at 7:00 when I arrive.  The weather is too cold and there is no supervision that early.  Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep your children safe.
