Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, in order to attend kindergarten, a student in addition to existing requirements must have proof of receiving two doses of the Varicella (chickenpox) or previous history of disease. There has been a school immunization requirement in place for one dose of chickenpox vaccine since 2002-2003 school year. Since two doses of the Varicella (Chickenpox) vaccine has been recommended and given by providers since 2006, we believe majority of children already have received two doses of the varicella vaccine.
Beginning with 2015-2016 school year, in order to attend seventh (7th) grade, a student in addition to existing requirements must have proof of receiving one dose of Meningococcal vaccine and two doses of Varicella (chickenpox) or previous history of disease. Since 2006-2007 school year, one dose of the Varicella (chickenpox) or previous history of disease has been required for seventh grade entry. Since two doses of the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine has been recommended and given by providers since 2006, we believe majority of children entering 7th grade already have received two doses of the varicella vaccine.
