Class Requests for 2015-2016

During the month of May we will be compiling class lists for the coming school year. In an effort to secure the best possible educational opportunities for all of our students, a great deal of thought is given to each child’s placement. Many parents would like to select the teacher for their child; however, this is not possible due to the complexity of the process.
If your child has a SPECIAL NEED that you feel should be addressed, or has negative dynamics with another student, please write a letter describing your child’s need and return it to the school office by Friday, April 17th. Please do not specifically request a teacher by name since it is very difficult to honor such requests. Our intent is to provide each student with the best educational opportunity possible. We appreciate your input and cooperation in helping us achieve this goal. Please do not ask your current teacher for recommendations or to place your child in a specific class. Teachers will not have teaching assignments for next year and will not know who to recommend. During the summer, it is often necessary to juggle classes due to enrollment and the office makes these changes. If we do not have a request in writing, those behind-the-scenes requests may not occur.
If you will be moving from Academy Park’s boundaries over the summer, and have not applied for a special permit for next year please drop us a note so that we can correctly transfer records and better estimate our staffing needs for next year.
