The upcoming month we will be providing each student the opportunity to show what they have learned over this past year. Beginning April 27th and running through May 18th, third through sixth grade classes will be participating in language arts, math, and science assessments in the computer labs. Students have two testing sessions in each subject and are able to work at their own pace. Sessions are scheduled so that students have no more than two tests per week, thus the long testing window.
Please encourage your child to show us his/her best work. It is always a positive reinforcement for students, parents, and teachers to realize how much each child has progressed over the course of the year. Unlike last year, we have been promised that scores will be available before the end of school. Therefore we should be able to inform you and your child quickly how well they did and what you may want to work on over the summer to help them be ready for the upcoming year.
As usual, we are asking that you pay particular attention to the amount of sleep each student gets during this testing window. We will be providing breakfast in the classroom free to every child, but if you feel you would like them to have a different breakfast, please feel free to do so. Thank you for all your support and positive encouragement throughout this evaluation period
