Principal’s Message from Dr. Longberg:
Thank you to all who came to our first Tuesday Teacher Talk Time this week. We had nine parents attend and they were all very excited about this opportunity. All of the teachers were in their rooms by 7:30 ready and excited to meet with you too. I know it takes an extra effort to come early in the morning but we as a faculty are convinced that establishing strong partnerships with our parents is the most important way to support student success. Please consider coming next week as teachers will be here again bright and early at 7:30. Bring your child and spend a few minutes in the classroom before you go to work or start your other daily activities. We welcome you and want you to know how much we care about your children. Please keep Tuesday Teacher Talk Time as a regular routine in your week. Let us know if a phone reminder on Monday evenings would be helpful!
Our PlayWorks coach is Coach Blake. He has been outside at all recess times since Monday. Hopefully you have heard about him and the fun new games and ways of playing successfully that he is initiating out on the playground. I know I’ve learned a new game this week—“Switch”. What fun it was to watch first and sixth graders both enjoying the game.
Our School Fundraiser will begin on September 21st. It is a very unique fundraiser as we won’t be selling anything! No money, no products! Watch for more information coming home next week.
We are looking for more students to attend our school. If you know of someone who is school age in the area and not enrolled, please encourage them to come to Academy Park. We are accepting all Special permits!
Once again please remember to visit our website. Our commitment is to keep it updated every single week. Please subscribe to the webpage so you can get information quickly.
Thank you for your partnership and support!
