FOCUS ON FAMILIES—Repeat from last week. Do you remember the Big 3 goals that your child needs to accomplish this year in Literacy and Math? Do you know how close your child is to accomplishing these goals? Do you know what you can do at home to help your child? Do you have the tools you need to do these things? Let us help you be your child’s best teacher at home. I invite each family to contact your child’s teacher to make sure you know exactly how to help your child at home. If you already know exactly how to help at home and are currently doing so, please tell your child’s teacher how it is going. Send an email or text message, make a phone call, use social media to share out. We want to spread the word about the positive difference that we are making as we work together. Your child’s teacher looks forward to hearing from you and working with you to help you be the best teacher for your child at home. Together, we can accomplish great things for our children.
PLANNING FOR NEXT YEAR—Community Council and PTA leaders met together this week to discuss plans for next year. Both organizations are important to our school’s success and benefit when families participate by coming to meetings to help us make decisions. Right now, PTA needs more families to serve on the board. Please contact Dr. Longberg if you can help. Community Council is recommending the use of Land Trust funds to hire another teacher to help class sizes be smaller next year. Please contact Dr. Longberg plongberg@graniteschools.org or Jen Tessin, Community Council chair, jentessin38@gmail.com to learn more about these important decisions. Final Land Trust plan will be approved at our next meeting on March 11th at 5:00 p.m.
