Parents/Guardians,
As Summer winds down and the new school year approaches, I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and provide you with some information that will help you navigate the start of school at Bennion. I also want to extend a sincere welcome to all students. Junior high represents an amazing opportunity for students. For the first time, students have the ability to choose classes and explore interests that have the potential to turn into careers down the road. Our most successful students will be those who embrace this opportunity and utilize the expertise of our amazing faculty to guide the way.
Aside from providing critical information to help navigate the start of the year, I also wanted to take a second to introduce myself. My name is Jake Brown and I am the new principal at Bennion Jr. While I have spent the last four years as an assistant principal at Cyprus HS, I spent the eight years before that as a teacher and baseball coach at Taylorsville HS. To say I was excited when I heard I would be appointed the principal of Bennion Jr. is an understatement. I feel deeply connected to this community and I am thrilled to be returning. My excitement about this move has continued to grow as I have met the teachers and learned more about the school. It is easy to see why Bennion has such a strong reputation. I know I speak for our whole faculty when I say we are excited to welcome students back to school and we are committed to providing every opportunity for all students to pursue excellence at Bennion Jr.
Please read through the information below. You will be provided important information about registration and the start of the school year.
