10 Reasons to See Your Counselor

  1. Your Classes
    • School counselors can help you find classes that are the best fit for you and your goals. If you have questions about which classes to take in the future, or if you are in the wrong class now, talk to your counselor.
  2. Study Tips
    • If you would like to be more successful in your classes, your counselor can help offer suggestions on managing your time, note taking, overcoming test anxiety, getting organized, and more.
  3. Planning Your Future
    • You counselor can give you information on different types of careers. They can help you decide what type of career might be good for you and help you figure out how to prepare for your career.
  4. Dealing with Stress
    • Between school, sports, activities, work, and friends, a lot of students feel overwhelmed and stressed out. Your counselor can give you suggestions on how you can reduce your stress.
  5. College Information
    • Your counselor can answer your questions about college like choosing a college, taking the ACT, applying to college, and paying for college.
  6. Bullying
    • If you’re being bullied or know someone who is being bullied, talk to your counselor for help stopping it.
  7. Relationship Trouble
    • If you’re having a hard time with a friend, your counselor is a safe person to talk to.
  8. Problems at Home
    • If there are problems at home, your counselor can help you deal with what is going on, and connect you with resources if needed.
  9. Mental Health Issues
    • If you’re experiencing (or think you’re experiencing) anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, or anything that is affecting your mental health, you counselor can help you.
  10. Anything else that’s a concern
    • If you have a question or a problem, and you don’t know who to talk to or what to do, see your counselor. They will listen and help you figure out how to handle whatever concerns or issues you have.
