Ms. Franklin’s art students created dazzling valentines for our “Annual Valentine’s Day Service Project”. We visited three residential facilities for seniors last night where we celebrated with over 100 seniors at nearby “Legacy House” (where a student’s grandma was super-excited to see their granddaughter unexpectedly!), “Legacy Village” and “Aspen Ridge”.
We had three parents helping out as well as the kindness of Mr. and Mrs. Palmer, an art student’s parents, who donated several dozen roses and Ms. Franklin and art students donated the rest so each resident could be surprised to receive a rose and a bright and pretty “pop-up” valentine!
Our Bobcat students made us very proud, indeed, as they were courteous and so very sweet, gentle and kind every senior in each facility. Their valentines were very pretty and many were cute and funny, like the old- fashioned kind the residents remember! The students used lace, ribbons, sequins, feathers, yarn, doilies, pretty pictures of flowers, and landscapes. The messages were all about love, kindness and positivity.
Over 100 students created these treasures and 12 students met up at the residential centers and gifted them to our overjoyed seniors, nurses and caregivers!
