College and Career
It’s never too early to start thinking about your future! In junior high, college and career readiness is about discovering your interests, building skills, and learning about opportunities.

What does College and Career Readiness mean?
- Understanding your interests and strengths
- Learning how school connects to real-life careers
- Exploring different education options (college, trade school, military, etc.)
- Building good habits (organization, goal setting, responsibility)
College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP)
Parents and students will meet with their counselor each year to talk about interests, strengths, careers, education options, and setting goals.
Counselors use a document that will follow students throughout their years at Bennion Jr.
Career Exploration
- Counselors go into classes during 6th and 7th grade years to teach students about career exploration and specifically using YouScience.
- 8th graders complete career exploration during the College and Career Awareness (CCA) class.
- Students will have a YouScience account starting in 6th grade.
